Must Read Op-Ed Co-signed by 148 African Americans Who Served in the Obama Administration

By Lady Hamilton

The following link to the Op-Ed Co-signed by 148 African Americans who served in President Obama’s Administration is a UC Netwotrk recommended must read.   It begins with;

“We are African Americans, we are patriots, and we refuse to sit idly by

Mr. Trump lead the birther campaign during the Obama Administration, constantly challenging the legitimacy of President Obama’s American birth, and eligibility to be President of the United States.  The Op-Ed authors stand with the the four Congresswomen; Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib,  who President Trump has publicly told to go back to where they came from if they do not like what is going on in America, even though three of them were born in the United States.

The Op-Ed authors state:

“We are proud descendants of immigrants, refugees and the enslaved Africans who built this country while enduring the horrors of its original sin. We stand on the soil they tilled, and march in the streets they helped to pave. We are red-blooded Americans, we are patriots, and we have plenty to say about the direction this country is headed. We decry voter suppression. We demand equitable access to health care, housing, quality schools and employment. We welcome new Americans with dignity and open arms. And we will never stop fighting for the overhaul of a criminal-justice system with racist foundations.”

Their example is one for all people to take a stand for what is right and righteous.

Stand for something, or fall for anything.
