DONNA SUMMER has sadly passed away at the age of 63 in Florida following a courageous battle with breast cancer. The 63 year old Grammy-winning super star was born in the Dorchester neighbourhood of Boston, Massachusetts, LaDonna Adrian Gaines, known by the stage name Donna Summer, was an American singer/songwriter who gained prominence during the disco era of the 1970s. Donna Summer had a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and was a five-time Grammy Award winner. She was the first artist to have "three consecutive double albums" reach number one on the U.S. Billboard chart, and she also charted four number-one singles in the United States within a thirteen-month period. Donna Summer shot to superstardom in the 1970s with iconic hits like "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls."
